Subject: E-mail to Sam Brownback
To: jbordall@yahoo.com
This (via e-mail) was sent on Sunday morning, March 13 to:
United States Senator (Kansas) Sam Brownback, the head of the upcoming (currently set for Wednesday, March 16) hearing on "Obscenity Prosecution and the Constitution"

Honorable Sir:
"In a society that is drug-infested, violence-wracked and polluted by chemical greed, no one has ever died from an overdose of pornography."
That was my opening statement to The Meese Commission on Pornography in October, 1985, during the hearings that were held in Los Angeles.
NOTHING HAS CHANGED in the 20 years since Meese.
However, what woefully appears to be happening now is the germination of The Gonzales Commission on Pornography. Different Attorney General...same futile, and extremely expensive agenda: the eradication of explicit adult entertainment under the smoke screen terminology of "harmful matter" and that most tired war horse of all---"obscenity."
Therefore I respectfully request that you consider other far more important and beneficial matters for scrutinization, before launching "morality torpedoes" at what free-thinking Americans (dare I say, "your constituency"), have, as adults, freely chosen to watch and to read.
Thank you.
